Marie Keane Releases Second Album ‘MNÁ’

Marie Keane will launch her second album ‘MNÁ’ at the Workman’s Club, Dublin, on Sunday 26th February at 8pm.

She’ll be joined by a 7 piece band for a full performance of the album.

Marie Keane is a singer-songwriter with eclectic themes, from environmental protection to Motown influenced love tunes.

For 20 years she’s performed in various blues, soul and jazz ensembles.

From the main stage in the Cork Jazz Festival to performing traditionally inspired tunes in the Botanical Gardens, her music crosses more than a few divides.

Her second album ‘MNÁ’ was written throughout the lock-downs. This rock, blues & soul infused album explores weaving themes of femininity from lived experience.

The inaugural album ‘Russian Doll’ was the planting of this seed. This second venture delves into spinsterhood, sexuality, the burden of guilt & shame bestowed in our psyche, the desire to birth & nurture, to be loved & to love, tackling the shadow self, balancing internal oppositions, learning how to self care & self protect.

It’s reaching into the depth of the spiritual journey and attempting to grasp purpose in this lifetime, with a little fun added along the way.

‘MNÁ’ is available from today, Saturday 11th February, on all streaming platforms and on CD from mariekeane.ie
