The Office of Public Works has issued a statement today regarding the closure of the Phoenix Park this week.
“The Office of Public Works (OPW) would like to advise the public of a temporary closure of the Phoenix Park this week.
The OPW received a request from An Garda Síochána to close the Phoenix Park from 5 pm on Wednesday, 12 April, to 5 pm on Thursday, 13 April to facilitate the official visit by US President Joe Biden.
The OPW has agreed to this request. All gates, including pedestrian gates, will be closed during this 24-hour period.
Access will be provided to essential staff working within the Phoenix Park and arrangements will be confirmed in the coming days.
All roads and gates will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
