This July, Guinness is collaborating with Hen’s Teeth for the ultimate summer food series, featuring creamy pints, summer vibes and four renowned international contemporary food creators.
The summer takeover at Hen’s Teeth Gallery will kick off with an immersive dining experience from award-wining singer-songwriter and chef, Kelis, on Wednesday 5 July.
Join Cordon Bleu-trained chef Kelis who will take inspiration from her Caribbean and American heritage to create a menu featuring Green Papaya Salad with Macadamia Nut, Guinness Braised Oxtail Poutine with Fried Cassava. After dinner the summer evening will continue with pints of Guinness and guest DJs.
Kelis commented;
‘I can’t wait to be back in Dublin to create my first ever food experience in Ireland, together with Guinness and Hen’s Teeth. I’m always looking for ways to explore new tastes and culture, and I’m excited to bring my passion for vibrant flavours to Irish taste adventurers for this one-off food experience. Like my music, my food creations are inspired by both my experience as a chef and a musician, and for this special dining experience I’m excited to create some new dishes and share food stories with guests over a pint of Guinness.”
Guinness and Hen’s Teeth are also set to bring three other sizzling food innovators to Dublin 8 for one-off food adventures, collaborating with some of the most exciting and creative minds on the food scene, including Willy’s Pies, Mam Sham and Taste Cadets, with unexpected and interactive menus.
So, what can you expect?
Willy’s Pies are a lockdown-born, Hackney-based pie company, famed for incredible ingredients and wild-farmed pastry flour. Founded by entrepreneurial chefs Will Lewis and Josh Hill, who have worked in some of London’s top restaurants, they’ve boast big-name fans including recent investor and TV personality Ian Wright. On the night there’ll be a limited run of 300 Willy’s pies to try, so get them while they’re hot! Expect banging pies with bold flavours and of course a special pie inspired by Guinness for guests on the night, with their event taking place on Saturday 15 July.
Mam Sham, Mam Sham, AKA Maria Georgiou and Rhiannon Butler, or the ‘Babes of Banqueting’, are known for curating experiences with good grub, LOLs and events that deliver all things food, creativity and comedy. They’ve quickly become London’s most fun food business. This will be Mam Sham’s Irish debut and only event in Ireland this year, taking place on Saturday 20 July, with a three-course meal featuring dishes inspired by Irish stand-up comedian who will also perform on the night!
Taste Cadets Taste Cadets are an online sensation who describe themselves as “three heavyweight swag lords traveling around eating everything the world has to offer”. Originally mates from London, the trio are made up of actor Allan ’Seapa’ Mustafa, former chef mate Kieran Cavanagh and tattoo artist Marcus Adams. With a combined Kurdish, Czech, Jamaican and Scottish heritage, they were brought together by having fun with food and a mission to eat their way through the best of the best, leaving no corner unturned. Following team-ups with everyone from comedian Romesh Ranganathan to south London musician Loyle Carner, on Saturday 29 July, they’ll be bringing street food with a twist to Dublin 8, with plenty of laughs along the way… their banter is just as spicy as their food ! Taste Cadets are set to curate an unforgettable summer experience hosting a Guinness BBQ on the Hen’s Teeth terrace featuring a line-up of our faves on the grill.
Amber Brown, Senior Culture and Entertainment Manager at Diageo says;
“We’re thrilled to team up with Hen’s Teeth for four unique events that marry fun, flavour, food and a creamy pint of Guinness – what better way to enjoy the summer! All four taste innovators are doing incredibly exciting things in the world of food, so hosting them for their only events in Ireland this year will be four unmissable nights. Expect mouth-watering feasts, perfectly complemented by the rich flavours of Guinness, and exceptional DJs long into the summer evening.”
Last week, the Guinness Storehouse also announced a very special performance by Kelis on Tuesday 4 July, the night before as part of their new ‘Lovely Day for a Visit’ seasonal offering, which features all the summer must-dos under one roof.
Tickets for the first event with Kelis go on sale today at 2.00pm.
