The multi-award-winning comedian is bouncing back with a brand-new live show. Starting in January 2024, Rhod will embark upon a full UK and Ireland tour playing over 100 dates nationwide and running until October 2025, with two of the final shows set to take place in 3Olympia Theatre on Friday 24th October and Saturday 25th October 2025.
Tickets from €44.20 including booking fees on sale Friday 29th September at 10AM
Recognised as one of the finest stand-ups of a generation, Rhod’s last tour ‘The Book of John’, kicked off in 2019 and ran until 2023 (with extra dates added due to overwhelming demand, covid delays, and further postponements due to Rhod’s cancer diagnosis). A highly personal and honest show, Rhod performed ‘The Book of John’ to over 200,000 people, amassing widespread rave reviews, with critics hailing it as his best live show to date.
Previously, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour…. But Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty. Hilariously dark, passionate and way too personal, this is classic Gilbert, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs…with a little help from an old adversary.
As one of the UK’s leading stand-up comedy talents, Rhod has enjoyed many successful years as a star of television and radio. He currently hosts ‘Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains’ for Comedy Central (now in its fifth series). He has written and presented nine series of Bafta Cymru award-winning ‘Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience’ (BBC One Wales and BBC Two across the network). He’s hosted three series of ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’ and is the former host of ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’. He’s regularly hosted ‘Have I Got News for You?’ and has appeared countless times on ‘Qi’, ‘Would I Lie to You?’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’. He made a very memorable splash on Bafta award-winning ‘Taskmaster’, has hosted ‘Live at The Apollo’ on multiple occasions and has performed three times on ‘The Royal Variety Performance’.
This new live show sees Rhod back on stage doing what he does best. Candid, hilarious and uplifting; it’s a show about navigating the dark bits and turning life’s giant grapefruits into something approaching lemonade.
RHOD GILBERT ON HIS NEW TOUR:
“After the year I’ve had it’s wonderful to be alive and going back on the road.
I can’t wait to get back on stage and I’m ready to get way too personal about life’s recent ups and downs. When life gives you lemons, you have to squeeze them ’til the
comedy juice flows, so prepare for some dark but funny s***”.
