Hawksmoor and Ireland’s favourite crisp brand, Tayto have teamed up to create a special toastie sandwich, available exclusively for a limited time only at Hawksmoor in Dublin.
Hawksmoor opened in the heart of Dublin in the glorious setting of the historic National Bank building in College Green in May 2023.
Before opening in Ireland, the team behind Hawksmoor spent the previous year crisscrossing the island, sourcing the very best Irish produce for their restaurant. On their travels, they were introduced to the classic combination of a pint and a toastie, accompanied by the best crisps Ireland has to offer – Tayto Cheese & Onion.
Inspired by this, Hawksmoor and Tayto teamed up and tasked executive head chef Matt Brown with creating the ultimate tribute to this classic to be served in the Hawksmoor bar; a mighty ham hock and cheese toastie served alongside loaded Tayto crisps.
Irish people, both at home and abroad, are huge fans of the national delicacy that is the humble Tayto sandwich.
With his 70th birthday on the horizon, Mr. Tayto wanted to celebrate with a special treat and this sandwich delivers. Within toasted Bread 41 sourdough this sandwich includes ham hock, red & white Irish cheddar, Gubbeen from Cork and a little mozzarella, cornichons & jalapeños.
The sandwich will be served alongside Tayto crisps, which have also been given the Hawksmoor treatment, and come loaded with scallion mayo and juicy ham hock on top – giving Tayto’s legendary Cheese and Onion crisps a lip-smacking lift.
This delicious collaboration will be available exclusively at the bar in Hawksmoor’s Dublin restaurant on College Green from 17th January to the end of March. Walk-ins only and subject to availability.
