Ahead of the release of her self-titled debut album on 12th April, Irish pop sensation LYRA has announced that she is set to headline Cork’s Live at The Marquee on Sunday 16th June and Kaleidoscope festival on Friday 28th June 2024.
The news comes amid Lyra’s current national tour, which began on 15th February in Waterford’s Theatre Royal, and has since taken two sold out nights in Cork Opera House as well shows in Kilkenny, Drogheda, Galway, Derry, Killarney, Limerick, Westmeath, Belfast, Sligo, Wicklow, Meath and Mayo. The tour has also included two sold-out nights in Dublin’s historic 3Olympia Theatre. This leg of the tour continues through Kilkenny, Sligo, Wicklow, Monaghan, and Trim in the coming weeks before concluding in the Gleneagle INEC Killarney on Sunday 31st March 2024.
LYRA is one of the most striking talents to have emerged from Ireland in the past few years. Hailing from County Cork, she’s established herself on both the domestic and international stage with a string of exciting, vibrant singles accompanied by a unique style of visual presentation that is never less than stunning.
Her new single ‘Drink Me Up’ is the latest release from her long-awaited debut album. The record opens with LYRA’s hypnotising vocal presence, leading into dark rhythmic tempo, radiating her infectious energy and lyrical hooks. It was written about starting out in the music industry and the perils associated with that, the conflicting thoughts one has when navigating a music career, LYRA is unapologetic at being her true and authentic self.
