Night and Day has announced details of its annual song contest for emerging artists.
The Night and Day song competition aims to support up and coming artists by providing the resources needed to increase their exposure and to get their music heard. As well as having the opportunity to play at the festival, the winner will also be provided with a choice of two studios at which to spend a day recording at either Soundcaster Studios or Paddy Jordan Recording Studio.
This year we will run a second song contest solely for artists still in school. The winning song will get the second choice of our two studios at which to spend a day recording.
The winner of the school aged competition will receive the second choice of studio for a day’s recording.
Entries will be screened by the festival’s listening committee which focuses on the quality of the song and not production.
The song must have lyrics and music and be both original and unpublished to be eligible.
Full terms and conditions for entering can be found here.
Previous winners of the Night and Day song contest include Patrick Stefan and Dubh Lee.
Creative Director of Night and Day Declan Hurley said: “We are thrilled to see our song contest enter its third year and are looking forward to hearing from artists in both the existing and new categories.””
