BECOMING is a 50-minute fashion performance that unfolds across three distinct acts, each designed by leading female Irish Designer, and brought to life through movement, music and immersive staging. Presented in collaboration with 5178 – underscoring DIFW’s commitment to cross-disciplinary creativity, blending fashion with performance, art, and music.

More than just a runway show, BECOMING is a live myth, a ceremonial journey through transformation, rebellion and release. Each act reflects a stage of self-discovery
Act 1: (The Zero Waster) grounds us in the earthy, guided by an oracle and a spiritual summoning
Act 2: (Aisling Duffy) ruptures that ritual with joyful chaos and punk-fuelled liberation
Act 3: (Solstice x Seeking Judy) washes the slate clean with water, rebirth and communal joy
At the heart of the show is Vatican jail, a multi-disciplinary performer who appears across all three acts, first as a distant prophet, then as a hesitant participant, and finally as the voice that leads us into freedom. Her transformation reflects the journey of the audience and the models alike: from silence to power, from structure to surrender.
Supported by live performances from artists like Shane, Laura, Fortune and Kessiena and designed with atmospheric lighting, sound design and scenography. BECOMING is not just a fashion show, it’s a collective experience.
Following the runway presentations, audiences are invited to continue the celebration with an afterparty from 8.30pm to 11.00pm, featuring performances by Vatican Jail, Fortune and Efa O’Neill.
