Hit sitcom Benidorm’s fan fav family Garvey’s to reunite for BeniCon

For the first time since series seven, Derren Litten, creator and writer of hit TV sitcom Benidorm will reunite fan favorite family; The Garvey’s, for BeniCon – a reunion of the cast and crew on November 18th -20th in the Spanish town Benidorm which was the iconic location of the show – and everyone is invited!  The Garvey family, consisting of Mick (played by Steve Pemberton), Janice (Siobhan Finneran), Madge (Sheila Reid), Michael (Oliver Stokes) and Chantelle (Hannah Hobley) have been a fan favourite and much-missed clan ever since they departed the comedy in series seven. Now the family will reuinte for this uique immersive event to the delight of fans 

First screened in 2007 in a 30-minute format, Benidorm grew to be hugely popular with ITV viewers, was BAFTA nominated and won numerous TV awards over the years, including two National TV Awards. Benidorm has produced many memorable characters over its decade-long run, but the Garvey Family and Madge in particular quickly became the standout star of the show.

More cast members confirmed for BeniCon in November include Jake Canuso, who played lustful Solana barman Mateo Castellanos, Sherrie Hewson who played Solana Manageress Joyce Temple-Savage, Asa Elliott as himself and Crissy Rock who played Janey Yorke, the first Solana Manageress. 

The convention is being hosted by the Melia Hotel and will run for three days with scheduled Q&As with creatives and crew who worked on the show, costumes and props, along with plenty of opportunities to meet the cast attending, quizzes, best costume awards, themed bars and location hunts. There will also be additional trips to locations such as Peacock Island, Benidorm’s old town and the Algar Waterfalls that were featured in the show. Some ticket holders will also be staying at the Sol Pelicanus Hotel which featured in the show as the famous Solana Hotel.

Of course, there will be karaoke in Neptune’s and a chance to perform on that famous stage!  The immersive element of the event is what makes it really unique as ticket holders live the Solana dream dressed up as their favourite characters from the show. The climax of the weekend will be the star-studded Gala Reunion Show at the Benidorm Palace, hosted by Derren Litten, the TV show’s creator and writer.
