Dublin rock outfit RAGERRA are set to release their brand new album When The Time Comes on February 17th, 2023. The band, who have spent the last 18 months writing and recording new music are also set to celebrate the album release, with a live show in The Button Factory on Saturday, February, 25th.

RAGERRA first emerged in 2019 with an alternative, heavy rock explosion under the name Valhalla. While it proved a successful formula for the Dublin trio who enjoyed giant riffs and pounding drums, they soon developed a new respect for a more melodic sound and with that came a change of name.

Formed by friends Mark Boyle and Barry Monahan, they soon invited drummer Luke Alford to join the band. This would help deliver the power they needed to round out their musical ambitions. As the band got to know each other, their musical charge and song writing began to grow and their mutual love for various genres influenced a new direction.

In 2022, the band enjoyed the release of three successful singles Runaway, Hone and Old, all of which received excellent radio play support, music media coverage and huge engagement on TikTok, amassing almost 500,000 streams. The three singles all feature on their new album When the Time Comes which is 14 tracks and 1 hour long. The album was recorded in Sonic Studios in Stoneybatter by Stephen Dunne last year and mastered by Ivan Jackman at Hellfire Studios

Lyrically the album delves into the themes of time, dreams, self reflection and change. The band wanted their sound to progress from the first album which was more guitar heavy and this time they wanted it to be more dynamic and expansive. Singer Mark Boyle writes “We want to bring the listener into dream-like moments but still with a tension sitting in the background of each tune, almost like a nightmare waiting to happen but in the nicest possible way. All 14 tracks showcase our development as a band and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved with our sound.”

Live the band are hitting the road and are set to make their Belfast debut in the Oh Yeah Centre on Friday, February 24th and they are set to headline The Button Factory on Saturday, February 25th with support on both dates from Belfast based shoegazers Virgins and ANDI

Tickets are available now for Belfast here and Dublin here.

When the Time Comes gets its release on Feb. 17th on Spotify, Apple Music and selected music stores.
