Irish Rail bringing back trolley service this March!

Finally!

Since the start of the Covid pandemic Irish Rail has ceased its trolley service and even though most things have gone back to how they were pre-pandemic, we’re still without our beloved train snacks.

Well not anymore as Irish Rail has just confirmed that the trolley is coming back next month!

Irish Rail management met with a number of Fianna Fáil TDs and senators today, with the party’s spokesperson on transport James O’Connor welcoming the resumption of catering services following the update.

The trolley service will be brought back from March in phases with the first believed to be the Dublin-Cork line.

While this is only one route, it is hoped that all trolley service will resume within the coming months.

There is also talk of of installing vending machines on some train lines which to be honest we wouldn’t mind either.
