Wicklow artist ILA releases new single Blue Skies

Isobel Livermore Atkinson, or ILA, is a singer/songwriter from Wicklow in, Ireland.

Her music is bright and fun, with her love of songwriting shining, though, on top of being a busy college student, the quality of her music never misses the mark, and now Blue Skies takes it to another level.

Blue Skies is a young love, opposites attract, nighttime, drive time, dream-like nostalgia trip. A hyper-current mix of vintage sounds with a modern, radio-friendly summer beat and hooks and melodies for days. Smokey, jazzy and full of sparkling pop sensibility.

ILA released her first single, Never Be Me in Lockdown 2020, a catchy power pop bop that promised to hook you in finding yourself humming and replaying.

A classic pop rock song for the heartbroken but not broken for long, finding yourself hooked after a single listen!

After releasing Layna, she returned with a bang with her passionate and relatable tale of forbidden love and rose-tinted glasses being taken off. Her first music video was given the highest praise.

In her third single, Thunderclouds, ILA showed off her vocals and songwriting ability with her heart-melting ballad about lost love.

A country ballad which will have you reaching for the tissues and giving you the strength to become the main character in your own story.

ILA is compared to the Cranberries regularly to her smooth and captivating voice. Others include Taylor Swift, Adele, Florence and the machine, Groove Armada and many more, for her strong vocals to bring goosebumps to anyone. You will be singing and grooving to this new catchy piece.

Blue Skies were recorded, mixed, and mastered at Beardfire Studio, Dublin, by veteran producer David

Virgin and his sons Rohan and Al. In their collective six decades in music, they’ve worked in the studio or

on stage with the likes of Nick Cave, INXS, Cat Power, Billy Bragg, Leslie Dowdall and John Cooper

Clark. Recent productions include All the Queens Horses (International Songwriting Competition

Winners), Patricia Lalor (now with Atlantic Records) and alt-pop icon RUNAH.
