Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra announce headline show at The Workman’s Club

Dublin is bursting with musical talent, but few acts capture the existential ennui of living in the Irish capital like the moody punk band Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra.

Their angular songs are steeped in melancholy, and not just the typical sorrow of youth, but of trying to thrive in a city becoming increasingly inhospitable to its young people.

And yet, there’s a halo of hope surrounding their songs.

Guitarist and vocalist Sarah Deegan and drummer Danni Nolan came together while gigging on Dublin’s underground scene.

They draw inspiration from the likes of The Breeders, Apples In Stereo, Courtney Barnett and Elliot Smith.

Their debut LP, coming soon via Anon Records, evokes the dreaminess of Cocteau Twins, Snail Mail and Lush.

PCRO have supported BellX1, Pillow Queens, Just Mustard, The Backseat Lovers, Algernon Cadwallader, Silverbacks and M(h)aol. They recently toured with BellX1, opening for them in iconic venues such as Vicar Street, Dublin, INEC Killarney, Mandela Hall Belfast, Cork City Hall, Leisureland Galway, Dolan’s Warehouse Limerick and The Electric Ballroom, London.

In 2022 and 2023 PCROperformed at festivals and showcases such as Electric Picnic, Primavera Pro Barcelona, St. Patrick’s Festival, Sound of Belfast and Ireland Music Week.

Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra, live at The Workman’s Club, Dublin 15th May 2024.
