International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFD) returns from the 17th – 26th of May with what is set to be the largest programme to date.

Before the programme launches on the 9th of April, book lovers can now discover an exciting selection of pre-release events on sale now, from a career-guiding seminar to spectacular spoken word and much-anticipated fiction.

The Insider’s Guide to Publishing

Writers at every stage of their journey are invited to delve into the intricacies of the publishing world at the 10th edition of this day-long seminar, which will give participants a deeper insight into pitching, editing, publishing trends, and how to get that big break. With six top literary agents, leading Irish editors, two debut authors and the mastermind behind Europe’s biggest writing resource website, this session is not to be missed for anyone looking to break into the world of publishing and get their book on the shelves. Always a festival favourite, Colm Tóibín, the current Laureate for Irish Fiction and an acclaimed author, will be joining the festival lineup on the 24th of May for the inaugural event celebrating his new book, Long Island, the much-anticipated sequel to Brooklyn. This memorable evening will feature Tóibín in conversation with fellow writer Belinda McKeon, known for her insightful discussions on literature. Look and Look Again | Benjamin Moser

Benjamin Moser, the Pulitzer Prize winning writer and biographer for Clarice Lispector and Susan Sontag, will be taking the stage on the 25th of May to discuss his latest work, The Upside-Down World. Sumptuously illustrated and surprisingly intimate, Moser’s latest documents his decades-long love affair with the Dutch Masters and encourages readers to look closely and ask questions.
