Growing up in Dublin in the 90s the Ambassador was always one of the social staples.
On the one stretch you had the Savoy, the old Dr Quirkeys with Ghost-train and Milky Way rides and of course the Ambassador which has served as everything from cinema to concert venue to exhibition space.
The last few years though the doors of the Ambassador have been closed to the public with many speculations as to what the iconic Dublin venue will become next, if anything….. With several other venues permanently closing or being turned into hotels, the fate of the Ambassador was uncertain but now it seems that the mystery is at an end.
This week the very first live event the Ambassador has seen in a long time will take place on Thursday October 10th with more events including comedy, poetry readings and of course music performances lined up for the coming months.
In a city crying out for more cultural events and night life the reopening of the Ambassador could not have come at a better time.
