As the celebrated Tuscan composer and pianist Antoni O’Breskey celebrates 50 years in music, Antoni O’Breskey: The Piano Nomad, a new documentary by acclaimed Irish filmmaker Luke McManus (North Circular), will premiere at The Lighthouse Cinema on Sunday 21 June. The documentary features contributions from composer Cormac McCarty, journalist Siobhán Long, author Fintan Vallely, musician Paatho Cummins and more.
The screening will be followed by a special musical appearance from the Piano Nomad himself, Antoni O’Breskey, along with piper Joe McHugh, hammer dulcimer player Barry Carroll and O’Breskey’s daughter, Consuelo Nerea Breschi (Varo, Landless) – fitting for a screening taking place on Father’s Day.
The event, collectively titled I Nomadi: Celebrating Irish-Italian Film & Music, will also feature shorts from Cara Holmes, Luca Truffarelli & Alex Sapienza. It celebrates the unique contribution Italians have made to the cultural life of Dublin, not least in the worlds of film and music. This event is part of Stoneybatter Festival 2026, in collaboration with Istituto Italiano di Dublino, Radio Dublino and Banco Bakery Stoneybatter.
