Irish teens can travel for free across Europe this summer

DiscoverEU, an initiative of the European Union will be providing free travel for around 35,000 young people this summer and young Irish people are being encouraged to apply.

The travel pass can be used for up to 30 days for those aged between who are 18 or are turning 18 this year.

Irish teens will be able to use the pass for 30 days between June 2023 and September 2024.

Applications for the latest round of the DiscoverEU scheme are now open and will run until Wednesday, March 29th.

The travel pass is free for all teens who were born between July 1st, 2004 and June 30th, 2005. Full details and an online application form can be found here.
