This week we popped along to Powers Golden Hours event at Humphreys pub in Ranelagh.
This week’s event was the first in a special series and featured a foot-stomping line-up of acclaimed traditional music artists including The Scratch, Andy Irvine, John Francis Flynnand Doireann Ní Ghlacáin along with guest host and The Deadlians front man, Sean Fitzgerald.
On arrival we were met with a complimentary glass of Powers whiskey as well as food and drink tokens to treat ourselves to tacos and cocktails during the night.
Cocktails included the Powers Honey Highball and a Powers Old Fashioned.
The Powers Golden Hours series will see some of the most iconic Irish musicians extend their legacy by performing with some of the finest contemporary trad artists in Ireland today and this week’s event was no exception.
The pub was absolutely packed with guests of every age singing and clapping along with the incredible music acts.
There probably would have been a few folks breaking into a jig but there was no room to.
When we weren’t enjoying the amazing line up of acts, we were tucking into tacos provided by Fuppin’ Delish, which were fuppin’ delish.
All and all the crowd was amazing, the vibes were immaculate and I can’t imagine a better way to spend a Tuesday night than with fantastic music and of course a couple of glasses of great whiskey.
